Location: Robotto office, Aalborg, Denmark
Employment type: Full-time
Work arrangement: Primarily on-site at our Aalborg office, with flexibility when needed

Are you excited by the idea of working with niche, cutting-edge technology that is helping shape the future of autonomous drones?

At Robotto, we build advanced autonomy and software solutions for drones and unmanned systems. Our work brings together computer vision, edge computing, software, electronics and real-world product development.

We are now looking for an Engineering Manager who is excited about taking a talented technical team into its next phase of growth. You will help ensure that ambitious product ideas, customer projects and technical development move forward with clarity, pace and strong delivery.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working close to technical delivery and making sure projects, products and stakeholders stay aligned in a fast-moving environment.

The role

As Engineering Manager, you will play a central role in connecting engineering, product, customer and business priorities.

You will work closely with Robotto’s leadership team and technical specialists to plan, prioritise and coordinate work across product development, customer projects and strategic initiatives. You will not be expected to be the primary hands-on developer However; you should have enough experience and understanding of software and/or electronics projects to support project planning and delivery of project effectively.

You will report to Jakob Filsø, Principal Engineer, and work closely with the wider leadership and engineering teams.

What you will do

  • Drive project planning, stakeholder alignment and delivery to ensure engineering priorities are clear and product and customer commitments are met.
  • Translate business and customer needs into clear engineering priorities, delivery plans and resource requirements.
  • Create visibility around timelines, dependencies, risks and delivery progress.
  • Act as a key link between engineering, product, commercial teams, customers and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure stakeholder communication is clear, timely and effective, especially when priorities or delivery plans change.
  • Use your understanding of software and electronics projects to support planning, sequencing, dependency management and coordination across product development.
  • Help ensure projects and product development stay on track, with clear ownership, realistic timelines and strong delivery focus.
  • Support the future growth and structure of the engineering organisation as the team scales.
  • Partner with Jakob on high-level technical planning and architecture discussions.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding and building a strong engineering culture.
  • Help ensure Robotto continues to deliver ambitious technical products and projects with quality and pace.

What success could look like in your first 3–6 months

  • You have developed a clear overview of Robotto’s engineering roadmap, active projects, priorities and dependencies.
  • Stakeholder management across engineering, product, commercial teams and customers is more effective, with clear communication, aligned expectations and timely decisions.
  • Projects and product development are running with stronger coordination, ownership and visibility around delivery.
  • Key delivery risks and bottlenecks are identified earlier and managed more proactively.
  • The engineering team has clearer priorities, coordination and support around delivery, while technical direction remains led by the Principal Engineer.
  • Communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders is clearer and more effective.
  • You have contributed to shaping the next phase of the engineering organisation, including hiring priorities and team structure.

What we are looking for

You may come from engineering delivery, technical project management, programme management, product development or a similar role. More importantly, you know how to create clarity in a complex technical environment, coordinate technical work and bring people together around shared priorities.

Around 5–7 years of relevant experience in engineering delivery, technical project management, programme management, product development or a similar role.

Experience planning and driving software and/or electronics development projects, including managing dependencies, timelines and delivery risks.

Experience with project-planning, delivery or project-management tools will be highly preferred.

An understanding of software and electronics development; previous hands-on technical experience is an advantage.

Experience working closely with engineering teams and technical specialists in a complex product environment.

Experience from a startup, scale-up or similarly fast-changing technical environment.

Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to work across technical, commercial and customer-facing teams.

Experience supporting hiring, team growth or improving ways of working is an advantage.

Professional fluency in English; Ukrainian is an advantage.

A degree in computer science, software engineering, electronics, robotics or a related technical discipline is preferred, but equivalent experience is also welcome.

Who you are

You have preferably experience from a startup, scale-up or another dynamic environment and enjoy working where priorities can change as the company grows. You are comfortable adapting quickly, while also bringing the right level of structure to keep delivery, communication and decision-making on track.

  • Coordinates technical teams and delivery without needing to be the person writing the code every day.
  • Builds trust with engineers, customers and commercial stakeholders.
  • Brings clarity, direction and follow-through when there are multiple moving parts.
  • Is comfortable making trade-offs and working through ambiguity.
  • Takes ownership and keeps momentum around delivery.
  • Can balance technical realities with customer and business needs.
  • Enjoys helping teams work better together.
  • Wants to be part of a company where you can genuinely shape the way things are built.

Our hiring process

Our process is designed to be straightforward and conversational:

  1. Introductory conversation with our Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Partner
A chance to learn more about Robotto, the role and what you are looking for.
  1. Meeting with the Hiring Manager / Principal Engineer
A deeper conversation about your technical background, leadership approach and experience managing engineering delivery.
  1. Leadership meeting
A conversation with members of the leadership team. This stage may include a short case discussion or live scenario relevant to the role.
  1. Offer
If there is a strong mutual fit, we will move forward with an offer.

Why join Robotto?

Robotto is building advanced autonomy technology for drones and unmanned systems, working at the intersection of software, hardware, computer vision and real-world operations.

You will join a highly technical, ambitious team at an exciting point in the company’s journey. This is not a role where everything is already defined. It is an opportunity to help shape the engineering organisation, influence how teams work together and build the foundation for Robotto’s next stage of growth.

You will have the chance to work closely with talented engineers, contribute to meaningful products and projects, and help turn advanced technology into real-world impact.
